Accessibility Statement

I want Small Business Happenings to be usable by as many people as possible, including readers who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology. The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What has been done

  • Semantic HTML with real headings, landmarks, and a skip to content link.
  • Text and interface colors checked to meet AA contrast ratios.
  • Every meaningful image carries descriptive alternative text.
  • The site works with a keyboard, and interactive elements have visible focus and accessible names.
  • Layouts are responsive and reflow cleanly when text is enlarged.
  • Motion is kept subtle and is turned off for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.

Known limitations

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one time fix. Some content, such as the blog and any embedded or third party elements, may not yet meet every guideline. When I find gaps, I work to close them.
